TITAN is system supplier! We produce everything needed for a perfect strapping in our own facilities in Germany. Since our founding in 1928 TITAN is known as the innovative company and our research and development centre underlines this again and again.
Already at the very early stages of Titan we invented the sealless joint, making steel strapping a lot simpler, stronger and cheaper.
Then, we developed high tensile strap, when regular duty was the only available on the market.
For hot applications, high tensile strap wasn’t suitable. So Titan came up with high elongation strap, being strong and flexible at the same time.
Then the plastic age began. Titan invested in its own Polypropylene (PP) line and influenced a complete new direction with strap that is a lot easier to handle and a lot cheaper as well and in addition, it does not rust.
With PP TITAN had to develop a new sealing technology. This was the birth of the thermo welded joint, the superior joint over any other until today.
But TITAN does not just focus on new technologies. The constant improvement of existing solutions is of the same importance. E.g. TITAN invented the first tubeless tool series, eliminating a source of permanent failures.
A real quantum leap in strapping could be presented with TITANARG®. The TIG-welded joint is the strongest and securest available for steel strap.
With Polypropylene (PET) another new strap material was introduced. And of course, Titan started up its own production line. PET is superior over PP in many applications, in particular in the heavier ones.
Today, PET strap is available up to 32mm / 1 1/4in with breaking loads up to 12,000N / 2,700lbf. For the full utilization of such straps, Titan developed a strong strapping head, called the T400, pulling high tension and sealing with a friction welded joint.
And then TITAN presented another real novelty. Instead of strapping two individual straps next to each other around a bundle of long products, Titan moved a single strap two times around the bundle and tensioned it strongly in one piece, reaching much higher tensions in the bundle and a much higher handling security of the bundle.
And lately, as high tensile and high elongation straps reach their limits, in particular in X-grade applications (hot super high strength steel coils), TITAN “simply” comes up with an even stronger strap, called TITAN SuperMEGA. Beside the strap, Titan also offers the full range of strapping equipment for the SuperMEGA strap.
